The Mohawk Valley Food Action Network (MVFAN) and the Food Policy Advisory Council (FPAC) meet on the 4th Tuesday of every month, from 2pm to 4pm, usually at the Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties (2608 Genesee Street, Utica) but locations may vary.

Since our launch in 2013 our meetings have engaged dozens of representatives from the full spectrum Oneida County organizations as well as the general public.  Discussion topics and actions have addressed issues ranging from the importance of school lunch to the sometimes confusing nutritional messages from media, marketers and the scientific community; from the impacts of hard economic times on food security to the entrepreneurial opportunities of a new consumer interest in where our food comes from; and from the role of regulation in reducing environmental impacts of agriculture to the role of local land use planning on the future of farming.
