RE:  Food Day: Setting Our Own Table

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

October 24th, 2012 is National Food Day.  On that day the Mohawk Valley Food Action Network (MVFAN) will share the results of 18 months of research and dialogue about our local food system, and engage community members in a discussion about how we can create a healthy, secure future based on a resilient local food system where affordable and nutritious food is accessible to all.

SETTING OUR OWN TABLE

What have we learned?

Where are we going?

How can we harness the power of our community and choose our future?

MVFAN is the result of a partnership between Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oneida County, Rust2Green Utica, and a wide range of community partner.  The project has also received support from the USDA Hunger Free Communities program and the United Way of the Valleys and Greater Utica.
